BTW I did dirve down last night and he consistently gets nice livestock.

One big plus in my mind is his customer service
I've had nothing but good experiences.

Why why o why there's gotta be some negative posts regarding any of our lfs.

They are all trying to make a living as much as we are.

I've seen them all good fish bad fish regular fish and the bottom line is u get what u pay for and is no more evident than in this hobby.

A little education goes a long ways!

Gasman why the change in attitude a second ago u were bashing the guy just like everyone here? carlos has always had great prices and superb customer service everyone here should be ashamed of what your trying to acomplish the guy has cheaper prices than some wholesalers and u guys are still complaining
if i were him i wouldnt even let u guys in the store,non the less
u guys are forgetting when he gets these rare shipments of fishes he is risking it ive seen him get a box full of dead fish and still sell me a mystery wrasse for 60 bucks i think everyone here should appologize for being VERY unconsiderate JUST MY 2 CENTS.

The only advantage that storefront had over the other 15 down suoth was the pricing.

that and he agreed with everyone else here u can tell i dont agree.

I re-read the entire thread and haven't seen one instance of bashing... This is a forum and we speak our minds here and pass on in info to other members and unfortunately it isn't always going to be be wonderful news. I personally like Carlos alot and he runs a nice business. He has good people skills and from what I've seen good customer service but I have noticed that he does open later than what he has as his store hours so I attempted to inform the poor guy from Naples so he doesn't waste his gas money trying to be there at 1pm when they supposedly open. And second, his prices have definitely gone up but like I stated earlier they are still cheaper than most others. I am the kind of person that I call things as I see'em and I don't think that anyone on this thread did any bashing at all including myself.

Its always funny how when you give praise to someone everyone applauds but the moment you have something that is not as wonderful to say you are attacking the guy. That's hypocritical.

well my defenition of bashing is to brings somebodys person down and almost evryone here has had something negative to say about the store. it is not my intention to start a verbal war here but only to express my dislikes on what is going on. what is this lets go on strike to teach him a lesson if you guys do that the only ones you are hurting is yourselfs beacuse you know regardless half the people who said he has jacked up his prices are gonna be there on wensday and monday.so why write something like this.

Thank you for the advice about store hours.
Personally, I have nothing negative to say about this store. The reason I went in the first place is because of POSITIVE things said on this forum. I simply live in Naples and was seeking some info. to not waste my time and gas. Next time, if the store opens at 1pm, I will be there about 4pm!!
Everyone has opinions about husbandry and quality of livestock. That's why it's great to have 25+ stores in the Dade/Broward area to choose where you rather go. Naples has 3!

The only advantage that storefront had over the other 15 down south was the pricing- 100% true is a small store that can't compare to bigger storefronts and displays- but that's all extras that I myself don't need some people do He's advantage is great pricing and excellent customer care.

I've recieved nothing but excellent customer care and profesionalism at all times.
And will continue to sponsor this store no matter what u think, b/c I respect the guy and completely understand what he does and how this bis works.

I've probably dropped 1k in a month down there-suuuuuuuure I'm bashing the guy LMAO.

Interesting point of view, because I do not see the bashing.
There are many LFS, down South and up North. The advantages of these stores is that some get better corals than others, some get better fish than others, some have better prices than others...thats a fact.
Manny stated that this stores advantage was the pricing....very true. He never stated that the guy was a jerk for raising prices, or for people not to go to the shop anymore.
I even stated, that the prices did go up, but that the prices are still cheaper than many other LFS.
This forum is for local reefers to keep each other informed, of prices, availability of corals or fish, and so forth....

I have seen some serious bashing of LFS on these forum, and Manny has been the first to jump in post against store bashing.

I don’t really think that his pricing has changed at all, he has just been getting much higher end fish. A lot of people commenting on his price increase don’t know that a show male flame wrasse retails for 220 alone online and complain when he wants to charge 110 for a PAIR. I can understand someone who doesn’t know what a rhomboid, lineatus, or loubutei is complaining why its doesn’t cost as much as a pink margin. But there is no way around that.

As you all know I go there a lot like Lulio does but its for the same reason, have a good laugh and get a good deal. He has good customer service and that I’ve noticed his prices haven’t gone up but his level of fish defiantly has.

He still has the best prices and best selection compared to other stores here and in Broward.

I personally dont have anything against you gasman the only thing that i saw wrong was that as soon as someone posts something negative everyone jumps on the bandwagon. if you spend over 1k amonth with carlos u must have a hell of a tank!!!(im saying it in a good way)
and by the way it doesnt matter how much you spend as long as you are a loyal customer and he is a loyal fs owner.

He had a couple of rhomboids that were very very nice as well as a purple rhinopia(Beautiful fish)

All of his livestock is top of the line.

I had the pleasure of meeting most of you guys and I do not think anyone has bad intentions starting with Steve who loves to joke around, did someone really believed the pastelito and $5 hammer thing?
Do some homework, know your fish, visit the store, ask for price, take it or leave it. Is that simple and hopefully we run into each other, share a laugh and talk fish, Carlos knows that I am one of his most skeptical customers and in 19 out of 20 visits he is not going to sell me anything (might change after Rogger's move) but he still welcomes me and makes me feel at home.

Manny is an outstanding person, super generous, great heart and always happy (contagious), he does have one of the three best tanks I have ever seen and that was even before Deep Reef existed.

In this forum we exchange thoughts but sometimes we express them as if all reading them know us personally and that is when it gets misinterpreted; in the end it all gets cleared up and is just a sign of how comfortable we feel.

Thank you Manny, I can't wait but the timing is a little off I am super busy this weekend and out of town the next two but again this hobbie is about patience. I will take you up on that offer after the set up with calcium reactor and a couple upgrades.
