storing sand

how can I store my sand and still keep it "live"?
can I keep it in a covered rubbermaid container? would I need to top it off?

the sand needs to be stored for at least a week, maybe up to a month.

rubbermaid filled with saltwater and a powerhead or bubbler in it. Something to keep it from stagnating. Also temp would be a concern.

I have 2 smaller rubbermaid containers, Ill put the sand in and then top it off w/ SW, I can put a small heater in them as well, also will put a bubbler in them. thanks. can the same be said for LR?

If the sand is more than a few inches deep, you might need to stir it up every so often. Otherwise you get the anaerobic bacteria building up in the areas lacking oxygen, which gives you a DSB. I'm guessing that's not exactly what you want. Because when you put the sand back into a tank, you'll get a cycle from the bacteria dying off.

if the sand gives me a mini cycle its not the end of the world, I will be getting 40 lbs of LR so a mini cycle will happen anyways. can I let the water be stagnent and stir it up twice a week?
