strange growth on bottom of torch pics!

So this is growing out of the bottom of our branching torch. It seems fleshy and is opaque in color. Anyone have any kind of clue what this is? Please let us know if you have experenced this before or know what it is. Thanks in advance!

they are harmless, provide home for micro funa (a good thing) and consume minimal amounts of excessive nutrients.
