Stream Question

Just a quick question, I am considering buying one or two 6000's for my 90 Gallon AGA, but money is tight. Can a 6000 run without a contoller. I only ask this because spending approx $250 several times is easier than $650 once.

Thanks Dan

Yes, you can run a single 6000 without the controller. The included driver will allow you to adjust the output. Without the single or multi controller you lose the ability to use pulse mode, feed mode and the photo electric sensor.

If your tank is for sps, lose the sand bed and get two 6000's. My corals love the flow from a single 6000.

You can run the 6000's with a sand bed. I have about 2 inches of Southdown in my tank and no problems at all.

These guys gave you good info but i agree sand should be no real problem. The IMAC demo tank I set up had 2-3mm reef sand and 2 6000 Streams a 1600/2 and a wavebox and everything looked fine- it was a 75.
