Stream Questions

Thanks, Roger, for your very prompt answers on my Comline questions... I have since decided to start larger with a 90g tank, 48" X 18"X 24"...

With two stream 6000's, one on each end of a 4' tank, connected to a multicontroller and alternating back and forth (never both one at the same time), would I be okay in terms of not hassling coral tissue? With a 4' long tank, corals will have to be within 4-6 inches of the stream...

I know that I can alternate the flow back and forth with the Multicontroller, but what else can be done? What are the bells and whistles with this system? I hear talk of "pulse" with the streams, but no one has explained what exactly this is?

Can the flow be randomly variable?

Thanks for your time and attention. For $700, I just want to know what all the options will be...

Also, how long of a wait is there currently to get the pleasure of owning this equipment...?

Two 6000's and a multicontroller would be the best choice. You can use tide mode to alternate the pumps from 1min- 12hr intervals. The pump that is on will pulse while on, every 1-7 seconds as you set it will go between two speeds ranging from 30% to 100% power that you set. At night when the photo cell is attached it will switch to the second speed for the duration until the lights come back on.

I have recieved some feedback saying the wait was 3-4 weeks. Delivery isn't consistent but it seems to be improving so I would only say worst case has been 8 weeks best is about 2. 6080's are now readily available and in stock here, 6060's aren't far behind but the complexity of the electronic models can slow or stop production if a part isn't ready.
