A guy at the LFS told me this fish was reef-safe...I read when i got home its NOT!!!! No warranty or guarantees....Its a KORAN angelfish ,,..Darn it!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well It was only 25.00...What to do?....IM stupid, Stupid!!!
Ive seen some korans in reefs before. Call them and tell them you want to take him back. They should give you store credit. Let this be a lesson, read about the fish before you purchase them.
Al Angels are prone to nip and pick at corals.
I would bring it back, They cant not take it back, they gave you bad advice and took your money to make a sale.
I would tell them that and demand your money back.
ok called the lfs and the guy says <your not gonna believe this one>.Thats my nephew from out of town that was watching the shop while he ran errands and has no paperwork on the sale but does notice the fish missing. So I asked him if i can return it for a credit or another fish and he says no..and My nephew probably stole from me anyway....So now I have to go to another pet store and buy a Fish only set up for one fish!!!!!
Or deal with my situation...right...I knew the deal was tooo Good to be true!!!
So please instead of tearing me up on this one can I get some help. Someone in a earlier post stated that they have seen korans in reef tanks...mines a 70 gal....Again im kinda stuck and beating me to death does not help my stress level. Thank you in advance...Shane

No thats a myth. A fish will grow as long as its eating. It isn't the size of the tank that controls the growth of the fish. It doesn't run into the glass and some gene triggers its growth to turn off. What will happen is that as a fish gets bigger it eats more and produces more waste. The nitrate from the food and the waste will stunt the growth of the fish. So basically, its the polution of the water that slows the fishes growth. As long as you keep the water clean and the fish well fed it will grow.
I repeat! Just kidding, I repeated myself enough in that last paragraph.
Hey, maybe you'll get lucky and the fish won't mess with your corals. I think they eat mostly sponges in the wild. Get some good frozen angelfish food with sponge in it and see what happens.
