whats the best substrate for a mantis? I was starting to setup my 2.5 but wasnt sure if south down is the best or not. I have a 1" piece of spa flex hidden in the sand.

depends on the mantis but a mix of CC and sand works pretty well

I agree on the crushed coral and sand, I have 75% crushed coral and 25% sand.
