i have a 65 gal tank 36x18x24 with a 400 watt Euro 10k halide over it. the light is about 10" from the water surface. i was wondering if this was enough to keep maximas and croceas on the sand bed? if not i have two 2x55 watt power compact fixtures that i can add. thanks.
It would be enough light but both maximas and croceas are found naturally boring into rocks, not on the sandbed, hence the common name boring clams. Any of the other clams would be a better choice for the sandbed.
yeah thanks. i was going to put them in the rocks but i have some good spaces except that they are very low to the sand bed. that's really why i phrased it that way.
