suggestions for illumination over a 72"Long x 12"Tall x 24"Wide prop tank

I have a tank that measures 72" long, 12 deep (top to bottom) and 24 inches front to back
I have a few ideas but I would like some suggestions about lighting for propagation and grow out. This will be for frags I get and ones I want to thin from my main display. It goes without saying, but I want good growth and color. There will be times I will have a mix of corals in here, probably clams as well.
I used to be a lab rat for UL, I ran all sorts of tests on all sorts of lights. I could manage to build one, but I really like plug and play. I guess the cost is my issue. I dont want to feed 3 175 watt lamps if I dont need to, but I dont want to see corals suffer because my lighting is insuffcient.
Just wanting some input and suggestions.
