Suitable for Clams?

I have a 90 Gallon standard size 24" deep with about 4 or 5 inches of DSB. 2X 175W 10kk MH and 2X 55W 7100k blue PC's.

Think this is enough lighting for clams on the sand or am I limited to keeping it up in the rocks close to the light?

Derasas and squamosas will be fine on the sand. Maximas and croceas would need to be very close to your halides.

Thanks Jeff - as far as keeping them in one spot, is it possible? I'd hate to put one up in the rocks and have him fall on a coral.

I'm not qualified to answer that, I've never kept a clam on my rockwork They will attach themselves if they are happy, so you shouldn't have to worry. Many, many people have maxes up in the rockwork....
