Sump Plumbing Pipe and Valve Size

Hi everyone,
I'm having a bit of trouble working out my plumbing for my sump. As a recap, tank is 165 gallon (72x24x22) with herbie style drain. The pipe within the overflow is 1 1/4 inch (this is what came with the aquarium when i ordered it). I am having trouble finding 1 1/4 fittings and valves. It seems like most online suppliers offer 1 inch and the next size up is 1 1/2 inch.
My question is, should i add some sort of adapter to increase or decrease the piping from the 1 1/4 inch up to 1 1/2 inch or down to 1 inch?
I am really new to plumbing so i am getting a bit confused but i want to do this the right way.

Thanks again
Marc

Lowes or HD have 1 1/4" but as mentioned you can always just adapt up to 1 1/2"

lowes has plenty of 1 1/4 fittings, I spent an hour in the plumbing department the other day to build my manifold :)
