sump Q? for 30g

1. if you were to setup and 30 would you bother with a sump? if so what type of setup for the sump would you have.

2. are sumps always noisy?

1. Probably I'd go for a refugium instead, and use a HOB skimmer. Actually, that's what I did.

sump and/or a fuge (as bertoni suggested) will defenitelly help. 30G tank less sand and rocks will give you not too much water volume to play with, so adding extra water volume via sump or fuge or both will have significant beneficial effect on the system.
So, even opting 10 gallon tank for a sump will be definatelly beneficial.

I put a DIY 15 gallon sump/fuge combo on my 29 gallon reef, it's working out very well so far. Cheato growing like crazy.
