Thanks

What kind of food did you put in with it? Put a small bit of every kind of food in and stir up the water, then put the coral in it. Let it sit for a while. In 15 minutes a healthy sun coral should have opened, one that hasn't eaten in 3 weeks may take longer, and it may not open far. Do you have cyclopeeze? Try a soft blast of cyclopeeze at the center of the polyps with a syringe. This has worked with every sun coral frag I've ever come across, but I won't say that it will always work. Good luck, maybe someone else will have other suggestions.

will try all food that i have thanks and keep it in there for about 30 mins

any other suggestions are very welcome
Thanks

yea cyclopeeze is the sh*t! I feed my suncorals it about three times a week now and I also feed them diced shrimp. and it works. I use to leave them in the container for about 45 mins. The black opened all the way but the orange is still not coming out all the way. Try it and I'm pretty sure it will come out a lil atleast.

I kept mine in the separate container with mysis for a close to 1 hr, may be 40+ min, day after day, until it started look fleshier. In the winter water cools fast, so I used 2 containers, external with a warm water, frequently added.
Later did 1g container for a sun coral, fed every 3rd day, after what changed 100% water, using aged water from the bigger tank. When it recovered, placed in the tank with a good equipment, capable to handle such bioload, and continued to feed, this time oceanic plankton and mysis.

So you guys are actually taking your coral frag out and putting it in a container? Since they aren't photo synthetic they don't seem to mind this? ... I mean "mind" in the way a photo synthetic coral wouldn't open after being jostled like that

Mine accepted this treatment for a several months, but after a luxury life being fed inside a big tank, partially closed when I tried to repeat separate feeding. Opened in a few hours in the tank.
Who knows...

I fed mine in a container for about three weeks. now they open up when I feed my fish...when the lights are off or on. my platecoral loves the food also.
