the water volume is around 18 gallons, and its a super skimmer for 65 gallons. my first guess is that i skimmed everything out of the water
however it hasnt skimmed in a week and i know with my feeding habits, theres stuff in the water that can be skimmed out.
when it arrived, i set it up, had it giong and within 3 hours it had skimmed as much as my seaclone could skim in a whole 24 hours. i was happy of course, and the super skimmer continued to pull alot of junk out of the tank. well this past week, no foam is produced at all. the bubbles just collect at the top of the water colum and get bigger till they reach the surface and pop.
i have noticed that when i add c-balance the skimmer stoped foaming (last week when it was foaming at all) and i use purigen and phosguard along with filter mats that have a phosphate resin to filter the water of most everything.
i feed the tank fairly heavy, (10gallon display) so that the sun corals, ricordias, anemone and fish all have something to eat. whatever is left over the hermits and peperment shrimp eat. maybe the pods and mini starfish eat up anything missed.
last time i checked the water, the ph was 8.4 but everything else was right were i need it.
