Survivor

I haven't shared many tank stories here but I had one this weekend that I thought was cool. Back in January, I bought two tiny clowns from an online vendor. I found one of them dead shortly after that. Then, a few weeks later, the other one just disappeared. I searched all over for him but couldn't find him.

This past weekend, I did a big water change. My sump was drained down to about an inch of water, the lowest it's been since I started the tank last summer. Then, as I'm reaching in to pull out my pump filter, I see this little orange thing flipping around in the shallow water!

The little guy must have gotten sucked into my overflow, gone down the tube, then managed to stay out of my sight in the sump for two whole months. Not only that, but he also managed to find food down there and survive all of the water changes, top off water, and B-ionic I dumped right on his head. Talk about a survivor!

I did move him back up to the main display and put some plastic mesh over the overflow intake. Hopefully he'll stay put now.

I love tank stories. I wish people would post more stories. I'm always chatting though.

So, Whare you gonna name him?!!?

That is a great story. I had a green chronis do a similar thing, but due to my plumbing, it was stuck inside the pipe. I found it within a day and returned it to the display. I then changed the plumbing so they could not get in again.

He was probably happy down there, nobody to chase him around and pick on him. It was his safe haven.
