T5Ã"šÃ‚´s are fluorescent tubes. They are more powerfull than ordinary T8 aquarium tubes.
F.ex.: 90cm T8: 30W vs. 90cm(aproxm.) T5: 39W. The diameter of T5 are smaller than T8, so you can fit more tubes over your aquarium. You get the most out of these tubes if you use "batwing"-reflectors. Finaly, I belive T5 fixtures are only delivered with electronic ballast.
