I have Tek T5s for my 24" tank with 4" DSB. It penetrates better that my previous PCs and 150W MH. I only have the acros on the upper half. The LTA seems satisfied being at the bottom...so are the mushrooms and zoas.

It should work, but I think you'll be able to mushrooms only on the bottom 10". 30" is hard for most lights.

get good reflectors, icecap or aqualux ones for the t5ho, and make sure to run a ge daybulb on it. i really dont think you will have any problems using t5ho.
