Tangs with Clams?

DA Mini Reefs

Hi Clam buffs!!
Can I keep a Yellow & Purple Tang with a crosea & a squamosa? A friend of mine had a Yellow witch used to pick at it's mantal. I don't want to have a problem if I get a Yellow & a Purple. The other fish [damsel, coral beauty, maroon clown] leave them alone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd be more worried about the coral beauty nipping mantles than the tangs, but I have heard of yellows doing that.

I have a large Yellow tang and a large powder blue. Neither one touches my 3 clams.

Sounds like you got a pretty peaceful coral beauty.

Each fish has a different personality. You never know which one is bi-polar.

It is generally accepted that both Purple and Yellow tangs are good reef safe fish. Of course as long as you have aenough room for two Tangs.

Best of luck, Rob

Thanks Guys
I only have an 80gal. tank, so I think Ill go for 1 Yellow tang only. Coral beauty is very peaceful doesn't bother Clams at all.
Cheers
