So for the first time since switching to T5 and LED's I am running into a new interesting problem. I have not started running my T5 (6X80) bulbs yet and have just been using the LED's

My house temperature is around 72/74 and I found that my tank temperature is around 76.8 to 77 throughout the day.

I currently have a few softies and 3 fish. (2 small clowns and 1 fairy wrasse)

Is this too cool? I have a heater handy that I can use to raise the temperature but I was wondering if this is an acceptable range to have the tank temperature.

^^^What all of them have said^^^

I keep mine at 77-78 for several reasons. First, increased oxygenation. The warmer the water, the less dissolved 02. A bigger buffer should the AC crap out. Not only is water capable of storing a huge amount of energy (heat), it changes that level slowly. A couple of degrees can buy you a few more hours. Finally, not trying to keep my tank warmer than it needs to be leads to lower energy useage and therefore more $$$ to spend on other stuff for the tank!

Have my apex programmed to maintain that. The less I have to run 1500w worth of heaters, the better.

Yeah I feel a lot better now. I did raise the temperature in the room where the tank is in and I've noticed that it is now a solid 76.9 to 77.5 which from what I'm hearing is perfect I mean the fish look great and I have a lot of water movement from 4 VorTechs.

I keep my water at the same temp you do. I've got an SPS tank and my corals seem happy enough
