The September meeting will be on Saturday the 12th at 6pm at Jose (colo_pr) and Tania's house. Their address is 8224 Settler's Creek Loop Lakeland, Florida 33810. Jose has asked if we would all park on the opposite side of where their house is located which would be the east side.

Jose and Tania have two marine tanks. One is a 210g which is primarily a FOWLR but does have some mushrooms, ricordia, and finger leather. His other tank is a 55g mixed reef. They also have a 20g freshwater tank. Lot's to see at their house. Not to mention all of their birds! I am looking forward to this meeting.
Mike's educational topic will be about water quality equipment. We will discuss skimmer, reactors, media, uv, ozone, vsv, etc...
Michelle will have a separate thread about the theme for our pot luck some time soon.
Hope to see everybody there!

I'm wondering if I am able to attend this meeting...I just signed up only a few days ago and was curious if I could pay the dues to someone AT the club meeting?

I have never belonged to a reef club before and am pretty excited about meeting other hobbyists...we didn't have a 'local club' where I am from. Also, what am I to expect going into my first meeting? I feel as though I'm going back to my first day of middle school...

Yes you can pay your dues at the meeting. I will make sure the membership has your badge. We have an informal meeting at 6pm where everybody greets and talks to one another as well as eat, and eat! Then we formally start the meeting with club news. At this meeting I will ask if anybody is interested in running for office for the 2010 term. I will introduce the host and they will talk about their tank. Then our education director will present whatever topic he has prepared for that meeting where everyone is welcome to ask questions and interact with one another. Lastly, we have a frag auction at every other meeting. This is our off meeting and will have one next month as well as the elections. I hope I have covered it for you. We also have collection trips, bbq's, raffles, special speakers, and whatever anybody can suggest we consider doing.
Great to have you aboard with the TBRC!

So as long as I bring $25 and some as yet to be determined family dish, myself, wife, and children should be fine arriving by 6pm to the address in the thread?

Just making sure I have all of my I's dotted and T's crossed...

That is correct and I will do one better since it is after July 30, you will only be charged half price which is $10.00 and $15.00 for family. The family dish is your option as we do not make it mandatory that you bring something but it is always greatly appreciated..Hope to meet you Saturday evening..

Good question TampaReefer79 as I was thinking the very same questions. This will be my first meeting too, seems we joined at the same time. I'm bringing chocolate of some type... brownies, cookies... you get the idea ;)

Looking forward to meeting everyone.
