Teardrop Maxima hard to keep?

I was just wondering if any other people out there have a hard time keeping teardrop maximas alive. I've heard that they were relatively hard to keep and I just personally just experienced a loss with a 4" blue teardrop. It isn't the money that I lost that I am upset about, but I don't want to purchase another one if teardrops are hard to keep in captivity. I'd rather them stay alive in the wild if that is the case.

TIA!

I've had my for 2 years with no problems. How's your water? Do you have good lighting?

yea, i would say no. as long as your tank is mature and u have the right lighting they should be fine.

Hmmm...That's good to know. I have 6 other clams (Derasa, Crocea, Gigas, etc) in my tank that are doing fine. I am running MH 175w 14k X 2, calcium reactor, Oziner, and a 40 gallon Refugium.

I've been dealing with a pyramid snail problem so my teardrop may have fallen because of that, although I have been pretty diligent in routinely examining my clams.

I will try again with another.

Thanks for your replies.
