Tek T5 retrofit Help! ASAP please

OK - Got my T5 Tek retrofit lights today. I am only confused about one thing, but since it's wiring, that makes it a big thing. Unfortunately, ReefGeek is closed today.

I'm looking at the ballast diagram for the 2 lamp application on the 39 watt ballast. Quick and dirty diagram:

Here's what I get:

both blue wires into the right end cap of lamp 1
both red wires into the right end cap of lamp 2
1 yellow wire into hole one of the left endcap of lamp 1
1 yellow wire into hole one of the left endcap of lamp 2

What color wire goes into the empty holes of each left endcap??

And since it's either red or blue, and I only got 2 of each, I'm assuming that I need to cut some either red or blue wire from one of the bundles. Is that right?

I've got this all scattered on the floor, trying to get it done. Help asap would be appreciated muchly!

Or is it the short yellow wires that came in each bundle. I think I'm an idiot. Would someone please confirm this for me?

I had the same questions too

It also does not matter which yellow goes in which yellow hole, or blue to which blue or red to which red.

wiring isnt that bad once you get over the fear of blowing your new bulbs up:rollface:

the wire color doesn't matter. just make sure you connect the bulbs in order of the diagram

Well, it's - what about 8 hours later and I'm finally done.

You know what the worst part about those retro sets is? The endcaps do NOT stay clipped into the mounts very well. I solved it by creating little latching rods with a short length of wire, stick it through the middle triangular hole just below the mount where the end cap pushes in and voila! Instant latching mechanism. Finally!

Got my screen in place and even with those in, the color of the tank is so much better than the PCs. I'm so happy I got these. Wound up getting 3 different sets because of the flat back hex design. 1 80 w, 2 54 and 2 39.

Plus, I got a Twix.
