Well folks today is my tanks 3 yr anniversary its been a long time coming. Ive been through so many ups and downs with this tank and i think its like my child basically lol... well here is my current setup and I'll try and get some pics when the lights come on.
65 gallon marineland not reef ready tank
custom built canopy and stand
lighting is provided by a customized 192 watt taken apart coralife fixture which has been mounted in my canopy along with a 400 watt 15 kelvin xm metal halide bulb for a grand total of 592 watts of pure light power
filtration is provided by the following
a biowheel350 with the wheels removed filled with carbon and filter floss with the carbon replaced every two weeks
a fluval 204 with carbon and filter sponges and ceramic things.
I am also running a sump this is going to suprise alot of you but i use a 12 gallon jbj nanocube i got for free brand new as my sump this works very well since the lighting was already included and it has liverock in it and is a very good place for pods to grow i have an overflow of course and for a return from the sump i use a cap 2200
a protein skimmer of course that everyone else seems to hate but i love it pulls tons of skimmate and looks cool also a coralife skimmer the larger model i picked up for 100 dollars at petsmart lol
i have around 150 pounds of home made liverock which is now totally encrusted in purples and pinks.
heres what i use for flow i have a seio 620 a powerhead 402 and a powersweep something or other not sure i got it for free at a garage sale it puts out lots of flow but doesnt move like its suppose to lol.
