I would like your thoughts on a good temp (single and dual stage)
controller. Any help would be welcome thanks

I have the old aquacontoller 2 system on my reef. I love this thing, it has wavemaking capability, lighting scheduals the only thing i wish it had was two working ph controlling inputs. One for the calcium reactor and one for the tank.

Aqua controller jr w/ DC8 would run you $240 without ph probe. Its a great device to expand on and has more then temp control. For about $140 you could get a ranco dual state controller.

I would second the Aqua Controller Jr. Mine is setup to control an external fan and shut off lights if the temp gets too high. It does a great job.

I would recommend x10. That way you can control way more and there is open source software out there that you can put on your pc to control every thing you could think of. I'm currently working on a webpage that goes through setting up your tank using x10 to control temp, lights, pumps, etc..
