The 325 Pentagon/ 700 gallon system

Well as things are starting to come together I would like to document what I have been working/planning on during the past year. I was on the search for a unique corner type of aquarium. Here are the specs and some pics to document what has been done so far.

Tank: 325 Acrylic Pentagon made by SP Aquatics. It is 1" thick acrylic with external calfo style overflows so you won't see any type of overflow box in the tank.

Lighting: 5 x 90W Aqua Illumination LED system

Skimmer: Bubble King SuperMarine 250

Sump: 48" x 24" x 16"

Return: Reeflo Dart going through OM 4 way. The return will go through 4 bulkheads at the top of the tank.

Flow: 2 X Vortech MP40W with ICecap battery backup

Controller: GHL Profilux Plus II

Dosing/Top Off: GHL 4 pump dosing station dosing Calcium/Mag/Alk.

Additional Info: There will be a 300 gallon poly tank in my garage plumbed to the system for extra volume and ease of water changes. I am possibly thinking of going with a deep sand bed in it but still undecided. Off the poly tank I will have a refugium and two outgrow frag tanks.

Stand/Canopy: Built by yours truly. They are all done exept for the doors which were ordered online.

This is just a start of things to come.

The tank arrival

The tank arrival

It arrived on Friday 8/29. Even though it is acrylic and lighter than glass it was still heavy and awkward. Forgot the insulation foam for the bottom so it is sitting on a cart in my living room until I can get some more help back over.

Sean @ SP Aquatics, www.spaquatics.com, the guy who built the tank for me, sent me some pics from the build and delivery so I thought I'd put those up as well.

Ill be tagging along with this one. I saw this thing as Sean was putting it together and thought it was very cool as it matched the shape of my stand :D I didnt know you were on here though.

The best part is I helped in the build of this already! I helped pull some paper off so Sean could glue the bottom on...haha.

Dimensions of the tank.

Each back panel is 60" and then is connected by the front panel which comes out 12".
The flat front viewing panel is 67 7/8"
The height of the tank is 30.5"

Got the canopy on today. It is quite large.

I supposes that is your wife with that " I should help! .... No I should run! .... No I should help! ... NO! I should lock the door!!!!" expresion ... correct?

Obviously, a saint! :D

Actually that is the neighbor from across the street. The wife was taking the pics to ensure that she documented everything. She just wanted to make sure pictures were taken so that when she comes home from shopping with alot of bags she can say, "Do you remember this day?"

Very nice work! 30.5" tall will be beautiful. Looking forward to watching the build progress. Curious as to why you did not make the doors yourself? You're obviously capable...

Thanks for the commments. It is all coming together and will hopefully have water in it sooner than later.
The reason I didn't make the doors is I wanted to match them up to the style of our kitchen cabinet doors. I didn't have the right tools to do it so I just ordered them from advantage cabinet doors. From the time I ordered them until I received them it was 11 days. Not bad.
