The actual tank size

I've been looking for a corner tank and I noticed one recently used on Craigslist, but the gallons and the dimensions don't seem to add up - I've not gone out to see the tank, but wanted to get someone else to confirm my numbers.

Shape is the typical corner tank, rounded front, two flat sides. The seller claims it is 80 gallons, and the tank is measured as: 50"w 23"h 19"d

If I'm assuming the tank is 1/4 of a cylinder and 19" is the radius, 23" is the height, I'm getting about 28 gallons...which seems totally wrong. What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Terry

Don't know, but hard to tell. Mine is 43 across the front, (including the bow), 22 1/2 high, and 27 front corner to back corner. It's 54 gallons.

50"W x 19"D is not a quarter circle. It's a quarter of an oval/ellipse.

I doubt the curve is perfectly elliptical, but if it were, it would be 37 gallons.

His measurements are probably wrong. That type of tank is either 54 or 92.
