The best a poor college kid can do.

I have a few update pics I decided to snap off tonight while I was at home.
I am looking for any reason not to study for my Physics 2 final.

Actually no I didn't do anything but resize the pictures. My little sony 3.2 megapixel can take some really good pictures when it wants. On the settings the only thing I ever do is switch the automatic light adjustment to the outdoor setting which gets the colors on the screen closest to the colors I am seeing in the tank.

As for the lighting it is a single 150 watt DE Phoenix bulb running in an Aquamedic Aquaspace light.

My top down shots are always much better than my through the glass shots. I chalk that up to the higher iron content in my 3/8" thick glass on the cube. I eventually will have a tank with a starphire front.

Oh on a side note this is the best my tank has ever looked. I am so happy with everything right now that I am wanting it to stay the same and grow in before I do any moving around. It is the first time I have ever been satisfied with it and I like that considering I still have a few other things I plan on doing before this tank is complete. I have started back dripping Kalkwasser to my tank and things have really started to pop again. Also funny enough I have been using Instant Ocean Salt again and it really seems to make the corals happy.

awesome tank pics whitten. im glad everything is doing amazing and it looking like you got rid of the hair algea. and that yellow watchman looks familiar lol!!! can we get a full tank picture, and maybe a before and after pics...

If that is the best a poor college kid can do I can't wait to see your tank when you get out of school and start earning some money to fund the habit!

Nice,
David

Well let me tell you my tank is a testament to others generosity. I have been fortunate enough to recieve many things from friends, as well as help and insight as to how a tank should look and work. Rollin, Real Reef's, Huff, Wecoupl (sp?), and many others have made this tank possible.

I am in the process of getting a growout tank together and when it arrives sometime in the next month or so I already have frags that I am moving over to it so that I can begin growing frags for people to trade or borrow ;) for a long period of time.

I will go and snap a quick frontal shot for everyone so you can see how much things have grown and or changed. I also want you to see some of beautiful fish that never really get seen to often in the pictures.

Here we are.

Drew Lankford? I actually didn't get anything from Drew Lankford...he wanted some stuff from me for a while and my frogspawn made him decide to get the monster that used to me in his tank.

I bought the frogspawn up in Atlanta at Capucinno Bay Aquarium.

Ah I wasnt sure. Yeah teh frogspawn he had was massive. I have no idea what he did with it all, but he doesnt have it anymore :(

I am trying to talk him back into another tank. He just sold his RSX and now he doesn't really have a hobby other than the band thing....me thinks he needs to get sucked back in.

Are you serious on the RSX????? He hasnt mentioned on another forum we frequent. I can frag him some xenia's :p

Looking really nice. I do recognize a frag or two. We need to set another small scale frag swap again.

Hey wpecoul, I knew I would butcher your name. Hey I actually did want to get back in touch with you sometime soon. We are needing some plate corals like the one that you gave me for our lab and I am sure we would be willing to pay for them.

By the way I love that little plate...it is so cool in the the front of my tank.

I plan on setting up another frag swap sometime this summer after I get my prop unit up and going. I want to actually have some frags to share with everyone this time.

I can't say much. I sold the cobra to put as a downpayment on a house right after my son was born.

Looks Great!

Thanks so much, I really do appreciate the comments guys. I posted thes pictures over at Nano-Reef.com and I will maybe get one possibly two responses back about the tank. Mean while there are about 40 new threads a day with pictures of new Nano Cubes with the obligatory Clownfish in a brand new uncycled tank. I have given up on Nano-reef, there are way to many novices over there. Atleast I know that if my tank gets over looked over here it is because there are a whole lot more people and bunch better looking tanks then mine.

Thanks again everyone.
