The deal with Superman Rhodactis

What's the deal? Sometimes I see nice tonga/rhodactis mushrooms on the selling forum for ok prices but no one seems to be interested, and then atlantis has these "superman mushrooms" for $120 and it's sold! And the picture isn't even that nice, like they got lazy of something. Well, I don't know. I have some of these superman rhodactis and a posted it but no one even cared. I don't know it seems pretty ridiculous to me. Just because of the name atlantis?

Does anyone else have these and can they post pics for comparison? And how much do these go for anyway? I was selling 5 polyps for $40 I think, and these are big polyps like 1.5"+. I am just wondering because it seems like not many people on the forums really cares that much about rhodactis but then I see them selling for super high prices on online stores.

Great lookin shrooms, ill take 5 for 40 off ya...

People get all wrapped up in SPS and forget about the rest of the reef IMO and thats why you dont see such a high demand for them. Im saying this because it happened to me, now i have a dedicated tank for both the sps and one for softies.

It's all about commercialism and the consumer's mindset. Just because something has an elaborate name doesn't mean that I'm going to buy it, but someone else might. Just because it is the most beautiful specimen I've ever seen doesn't mean that I'm going to buy it, but someone else might. Everyone's tastes, preferences, and wallet size differ drastically. People that have made a name for themselves for selling certain things tends to attract big spenders. Atlantis Aquariums and Marine Center are just two of those places. I'm not saying that it is wrong, but I have better things to do with my money, and I bet I can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere or at least something that looks close enough. Here is my "Superman Rhodactis". I picked it up for about $10.

Thanks guys and Aqruarius I will frag them when I have time but it was a while ago that I was selling them and since then they have grown into my reef so I don't really want to pull them out now. Oh and travis do you have any pics of the colony? Or like just a pic of the entire shroom?

It's actually about 3" across when fully expanded. It's "purdy"
