Not sure I follow you D... The 1.5 sch40 pipe is grooved at the one end. this groove goes under the two clips on either side of the MJ body... is this where you feel it is moving around? If so I should be able to find the "sweet spot" again by rotating it... correct? and finally your suggesting the test cap because its a better fit and less chance of it moving out of position?

Yes on all of the above ^

The prop Mod by dhnguyen is awesome. Its turning over 17 gal of water in a 29gal with 50lbs of LR @ 1100 -1300gph. In the REAL world, this chunk of reef would get 10-15k an hour of flow. Consider that.

You guys are just going to let that slide. 15000 gallon an hour? Thats apples and wallnuts, but ok, not to get side tracked.

gotcha... thanks. I'll check for some test caps... might also look into some flat rubber gaskets.

There is that word FLOW again. When we are concerned with current but we measure it in flow. Would we be getting off the subject if we talk more about this???

me nether, but that said you cant dulicate that flow in a Aquarium unless i put my tanks on a see saw. hey theirs a idea. ill save the flow thing for another day.

thanks for the maxi mod suport.

ok having 2 problems now. i got the props drilled out with a dremel cutter like u said and works like a charm . thankis . 1st problem is that the prop even after i glue it to the ridgid airline tubing it comes of after 5 minutes? i am using ca glue and letting it set up for maybe 1 hr . second problem is that when it starts up backwards it doesnt swith ? i have a stopper in there on my center brace and my prop sits about 3/8 of an inch from it so not sure why it not reversing directions. the whole assembly from magnet out is 1 and half inches. the prop connected to the ridig tubing is 1 and 1/4 inches long did i mess summothing up along the way? when it does flow the right way damn it sure is nice. this my first mod with these so trying to learn. the stopper assembly i made i just like the one on the very first page that u made for an idea of what it looks like .

1. Try a different glue. I've had good luck with LocTite as well. Worse comes to worse use epoxy. Once epoxy is dried though, nothing will get it off so you better make sure the propeller is where exactly where you want it.

2. Can you see if the propeller is hitting the stopper at all when it's spinning in reverse? If not that would be why it's not correcting its spin. Or could also be that the first problem is leaving your propeller too loose on the rigid tube and when it hits the stopper, it (the propeller) spins around the tube instead of stopping.

hi everybody, i'm from the Philippines. Can't seem to find a hobby shop here that sells the propeller I need. Can anybody here recommend a vendor that can ship in the Philippines?

thanks in advance.

Octura Models - the manufacturer of Octua propellers will ship overseas. Only problem is you have to mail or call them directly as they do not have a website nor email address.

Octura Models Inc
(847) 674-7351
7351 Hamlin Ave
Skokie, IL 60076
USA

You could also try eBay?

Or ask the members in this group where they get theirs from?

I was thinking about using a PC fan...like an 80mm...any thoughts (besides removing all the metal of course). Might be an easier way to score fans.

That reminds me, I saw a plastic paint mixing tool that hooks into your cordless drill that looked like a promising impeller. It is more of a turbine shape like the seios use.

I couldn't find online the one that I saw in person, but that one is close. Just an idea for those that want to use a bigger prop. I believe I saw one that had a 2 5/8" diameter.

How long has your mod's been running for ?

Since July of last year and still running strong. I do clean it once every couple of months or so though.
