I am actually no longer using the dual 1.25 Nitro props anymore as I found the Octura propellers to be much more efficient and quieter. One 1.38" 1235 Octura prop puts out as much if not better flow than 2 Nitro Hammer props.
FILL US IN ON THE OCTURAS. :D

If you look at their model #s, its basically the first two digits are the pitch, and the last two digits are the prop diameter in mm. So a 1235 should be a 1.2 pitch and 35mm or ~1.38"

Here's what I don't get: how can a prop that is only slightly bigger (1.38 vs nitro's 1.25) put out more flow if its pitch is so horrible (only 1.2 vs nitro's 1.65)? Do you mean the 2035? Now THAT looks like it would be a good prop. :D

The overall picth is calculated by this formula below:

Pitch X Diameter = actual Pitch

1.2 X 1.38 = 1.656

And yes I did make a mistake there is no such propeller as a 1235 it's actually 2035

so then 2 X 1.38 = 2.76 which is awesome :)

And does the shaft of the 2035 fit perfectly into the tubing w/o drilling? I think that the 2035 would be like, the perfect prop for a MJ900.

Heck, their 2.0 pitch line goes all the way up over 2" in diameter, so the skys the limit as to how big you want to go and how big a pump you want to try this with.

Too late, I ordered 24 of them last night...lol.

Can you look on mcmaster.com and tell me if this will work?

Part #88915K39

Its .094 STainless rod, Type 303. (I didnt see 316)

Or, if you could point it out...lol. Perhaps the 2 or 3 mm is good?

Ok pal if I run out of props and find out that Octura is out of stock, I'm coming over to collect

Here's the part number 316 SS rods that I ordered and used

7972A278

you HAVE to use 316 SS otherwise you risk facing corrosion and rust.

Well, I have a few dozen props on the way, octura, nitro, and some of those 3 and 4 blade race props...even picked up a 2.3" prop. I placed orders for both the CF rods and SS from Mcmaster & Tower.

My shrouds will be all acrylic pipe however...as I am better at machining acrylic than PVC (and have plenty laying around)...and its clear so I dont have to paint it. It also means I can use weldon to attach everything including the x-brace.

Ill post when I get everything in. Should be a blast.

They look interesting no doubt. Only thing is it might be a bit of a PITA to drill out the brass inserts. Too bad we don't know what the pitch is on those.

dh, my props should be here tomorrow from octura, got some big dogs on the way. so i still need some help on making that coupling part for the air line tubing to the magnet, a closeup pic would be nice. right now i have mine coupled directly to it so it wont slide up or move anywhere, thus why it wont hit the stopper when it starts in reverse.

By the way the 1435 propellers are very nice as well. Beating the Nitros easily.

D.
Did you double up on the 1435s?

OK, now I'm waiting for someone to get the Octura x482 running. 3.22" diameter w/ a 4.508" pitch! I bet this thing would be too much flow for a 2,000 gallon shark tank! Seriously, I bet it would be too much flow for a tank less than 3' wide and 3' tall which pretty much puts us into the realm of 600+.
