For you guys who glued these on magnets, what glue did you use and what size mag float do I need for a AGA 90? Thanks!

Duece67
I'm using the medium magnets on a 125G.I used the large magnets on another one that is attached to 1/2" glass.I used the super glue from Tower Hobbies.

ok well i ordered some octura props today, got 2 of the following, 1450, 1455, 1460, 2045, 1445. the 2045 should be a real killer if it will spin on the seios, has a huge pitch to it, like 3+

Tim

Where did you order them from Tim? I ordered mine directly from Octura. Kinda sucks since they have no web site and no email. It was weird to actually have to fill out a paper order form to send back.

D.

i called them directly and ordered via phone, had to pay with a COD from ups at a 8.50 charge or send them a check and ....... so they should be here next week like thurs by the latest. cant wait

Tim

Just saw that towerhobbies.com is fresh out of Nitro Hammer propellers until late March. These thing smust be selling like hot cakes

must be, but what powerheads are you putting them on. i mean the seio 820 spun the 1.75 dumas props just fine. so is a seio motor that much stronger than a maxi 1200

Tim

Ok, can you please do me the favor of listing what are the top props performance-wise? I am going to make an order and just get a bunch since they are cheap...and tinker around to see what I like..please tell me as well what size, if you use 1 or 2 on a shaft. I have been trying to go back and read, but get lost in the timeline as to which outperforms which.

I am thinking about doing 2 of the 1.5" ID PVC shroud ones, and maybe one of the 2" ID shrouds. What should I be looking at? I have all size MJ pumps laying around.

So far here are the props in order of performance (least to most)

1.25" Dumas
1.25" Nitro Hammer
1.5" Great Planes
1.75" Dumas

I just ordered a bunch of Octura propellers as well in all sizes from 1.21" to 1.77" that have some wicked pitch ratings. These should work really well I think and much better than the above. The only caevat is it's kinda a PITA to order.

Yes actually I do believe the SEIO motor is stronger than the Maxijets. About the most I was able to get to spin without stalling so far is a 1.75" Dumas.

anyone found any other ways to cut the groove ?

Cutting the groove. For this I am using a 10" miter saw with a 7" fine toothed blade. At the highest height setting, the
miter saw will come down just enough to cut into the 1.5" PVC pipe halfway through the plastic, making it ideal for cutting the groove. For those of you who chose to use the PVC test caps instead, you can skip this.

Actually I'm now cutting the groove using a small wet tray tile saw. Much easier to control. Have heard of people using table saw to do this too though.

You can also use a hand held rotary tool like a Dremel. Well... Assuming of course that you don't drink a lot of coffee (like I do) and have steady hands

just wear thick gloves if you like you coffee soo much :D

i do all my work with my dremel. it works fine for me.

well i got a maxi 1200 and 900 lying around so i might try and put the dumas prop on the 1200, but it is in my 2" frag tank right now and i dont think i want THAT much flow in it, since the two maxi stock are doing good job.
