The MJ600 can spin a single 1.38" 1435 Octura prop without problems.
Otherwise you can use the smaller 1.25" Nitro Hammer or Dumas

IF you can get a strong enough motor to spin the larger 1.77" 2045 or 1445 Octuras you will get some serious flow and they will beat the 1.75" Dumas easily. The Maxijets just aren't strong enough to spin these.

2035 would be the strongest prop for 1.5" PVC.
I had an older MJ900 that had problems spinning it without help. But the brand new MJ900 I tested on had no issues. If your MJ900 struggles with this prop, you can use the 1435 which is still really good with slightly less pitch. Even my old MJ900 had no problems spinning that one.

ok well i just finished making my maxi 1200 mod. out of all the props i have i ended up using 2 1.75 duams props. i could almost get the maxi to spin the 1445, but, in the end it just wouldnt do it fully sumbersed. i have some pictures that i will upload in a little bit. this thing puts out some realy serious flow. the sps i have in my 180 get blasted by it and they are about 4-5 feet away from it. gonna make another one right now but only have one dumas prop left so i'll have to settle with a single prop version. i will also take some video with my cam and try to post it up on here.

WOW. I just did the 2 Nitro prop mod to a maxi-jet 1200, it puts out way more flow than my Seio 1100 - and can use it on my Chauvet timer (wavemaker). I got a couple sets of the nitro props from towerhobbies just before they sold out

Hi guys,

I've been keeping up with the thread for several weeks. I thought you all might get a chuckle out of my attempt to ghetto-ize your mod

I started with this (Walgreens $3.99):

and also an AquaClear 150:

I removed the pump portion and inspected the impeller:

Next I ripped open an old bio-wheel for it's center rod:

I used my drill bit case to measure the rod (1/8"):

I then broke up the "Outboard" from my toy boat:

I was able to isolate the prop and shroud:

I then cut and glued a piece of 1/2" pvc to join the shroud to the pump. I then drilled the magnet, prop, and center of shroud with 9/64" bit. I glued all together opting for the bic pen method vs. the vinyl and rigid tubing. I then inserted the rod all the way through and glued the rod into the center of the shroud.

Here's the final:

Granted this is not the powerhouse you guys are building, but it actually worked pretty well in my 10g nano

The aquaclear pump is water-proof? I always thought that it said right on the side of it: DO NOT IMMERSE.

it is sealed just like other pumps an PH's. It didn't shock me or trip the breaker. Maybe they put that on there to cover their behinds?

Double checked the verbage on mine. Only says "DO NOT RUN DRY".

I made a version of this out of a whifle ball. It came pre-ventilated, and can be cut using scissors instead of a saw.

I happen to have scissors, so it worked out for me.

It works ok, but I havent made a stopper for it yet. 80 percent of the time it seems to go the right way. I think my shaft is too thin , the thing buzzes a bit.

I used CA (AKA super glue) but Weldon should work as well.
