The true Honeycomb Moray is becoming more and more lost from the hobby

Somewhere years ago the name honeycomb was attached to the Tessellated Moray that really belongs to the true Honeycomb moray (Muraena melanotis) in which grows some 3.5' and not 3x the size for true info is becoming lost as today more and more different names are becoming other eel species names, scientific names as well as common names.

I can see and agree with the name leopard eel or Laced moray for the tesselata, but not honeycomb for it has confused way too many people and that if the hobbyists would want the true honeycomb eel, they should make sure that their lfs knows that the true honeycomb is the Muraena melanotis and not the Gymnothorax favagineus.

For those who still want to believe to think that the tesselata is the true honeycomb, it is your choice to believing it. Now you all know of the appearances of the tesselata, take a look at the true honeycomb and then make your decision to which is the true honeycomb. For too often I heard people had mailed order the honeycomb and they received the tesselata instead.
