Looks good to me. I use damp rid from the local hardware store as my calcium supplement. I have no issues.

I was just worried about some kind
of chemical in the other 6% like bromide or something. I do regular water changes so i'm not so concerned with a buildup of anything.

It might have toxic contaminants of some sort, but we don't have the equipment to check for such problems, and it's too expensive to pay for the tests. That said, people generally seem successful with calcium chloride products.

94% pure is the same as the current dowflake product. If I remember correctly, almost all of the other 6% is moisture (water). I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that this is just private labled or repackaged dowflake.

94% Is an Imported Calcium Chloride... most likly from China. Prills are also very rarely used in de-icing, it is usually called Pellets (prills are actually more of a foreign thing). Dowflake is 83-87%, Peladow is 90-93%. I would toss the $12 and get a different brand, China is not known for the best quality control lol.
Disclaimer... I am a Domestic Calcium Wholesale Distributor.

What is the value of everything in your tank? I would get something else. If you save $20 but kill your prized coral was the savings worth it?

I agree with that. I would go for at least food grade.

Or use a calcium chloride which several other aquarists already use like from Bulk Reef Supply. :)

Well, thats what i was thinking. I just got this for $12 for $50 lbs and bulk reef supply wants $18.00 for 7 lbs. I've used this stuff already multiple times but only to raise my calcium levels...not maintain them. I worry about it ALOT. I have a 300 gallon SPS tank that has ALOT of coral in it and the last thing i need is to lose some or all of them because i was trying to be cheap.

This stuff is made in Mexico and is the Alcali brand. What would be a good brand to pick up in bulk? The Lowes we have here in BFE doesn't carry Dowflake. I have a 300 gallon tank and would like to have at least a years worth anyways!
