Can you vary the flow on the non DC Tunze streams with current limiters.

I know alot of other AC motors can be varied this way why not a Tunze pump.

I have an extra one from a fireplace blower motor. It varies the current. Thus changing the blowers speed.

I didn't want to try it unless it wrecked my stream. I remeber you saying that the only way to do it is to vary the hz but i was just wondering about the current limiters.

No. All submerse pump motors that are non electronic are termed synchonous, they have an electromagnetic that changes polarity in synch with the Hz frequency and a permanent magnet inside that rotates in reponse. They do 3600 rpm at 60Hz or they don't spin at all. The threshold for our motors to run is about 100V below that they don't spin and will overheat and could be destroyed. Regulating the Hz is impractical and expensive. Motors like blower motors are generally split pole or asynchronous and that is why such a control works.
