Silicone rubber has an expiration date.
A few years back I found out that old silicone rubber would not cure properly.

DAMN! Wish I'de seen this post a few days ago.
Just found this out the hard way. Put in a shower enclosure with old silicone and it did not harden at all. Now I have to take it all apart and remove the old glue.
