tile saw to cut glass

Does anyone know if you can use a tile saw to cut sheets of glass? I know the blade is diamond coated and would like to cut up my broken 40 breeder so I can use the glass as lids for a couple of my tanks?

dangerous indeed.!! I just want to know how dangerous. I am going to take the tank apart first but was looking for a faster way to cut the glass. I think it would take forever using a rotozip bit and a dremel.

I cut a glass vase with my tile saw with no problem, I took it slow very slow. But, there was a great chance of it breaking and shards of glass flying everywhere. It was a risk I took.
How thick is it? why not get a glass cutting tool at the local hardwear store ($5-$10) and cut it that way?

1/4" should of looked on google before posting... Looks like they make a special blade you can use in tile saws to cut glass.

i would use a standard glass cutter. using the saw will waste a lot of time and energy. i cut 1/4" glass with my cutter all the time.
