To Raise ALK

Can I use my hot-tub product to raise my ALK. It says it is 100% sodium bicarbonate??

I would buy some baking soda rather than use the pool product, since the baking soda food-grade and tends to be the safest choice, all in all.

Over the long term, using a two-part or other balanced additive is a safer way to dose calcium and alkalinity, IMO. This article might help:

The material is OK, the question is impurities. I agree that it is probably fine, but unless you have a huge tank, the cost of grocery store baking soda is fairly low, and then you at least have the assurance that it is a food grade product with whatever quality control goes along with that.
