Toadstool frag bent over

I just got this Toadstool frag about a week ago, its been looking pretty much the same since the day I got it. I haven't really seen any polyp extension, but then again I'm at work during the day so I don't really get to see it that much. Anyhow when I came home yesterday I noticed the frag had all the sudden just kinda slumped over itself??? I have seen some things across the internet from others with the same problem. . .so i guess my question is . . . .is this normal behavior or is it too late for this little guy?? I attached a pic of the frag, and a pic showing some of the other corals and how they are doing. Any help is much appreciated. :)

Leathers can be finicky. My did the same thing for a week or so and then it opened up. A lot of times they will close up and slime over for little to no reason only to pop out a couple days later. My advice: let it be and give it some time. Unless the tissue is physically melting I would not be worried. Leathers are tough critters.

thanks for the tip!!

Its not looking so good today, Part of me really thinks its a gonner :sad2:
But I cant understand why??? Can anyone shed some light on this? All other corals in the tank pics are happy, so this totally baffles me :headwallblue:

It's not a goner if it doesn't look like melted ice cream with pecans! :P

Toadstools are grumpy grumpy grumpy. If he's in moderate/indirect high flow with good light, leave him be and he'll be fine.

If you notice him literally falling to pieces (Not just 'shedding') then he's gone, but if he's whole, he's fine.

Sometimes increasing the flow around these corals, or moving them to an area where the water is very turbulent will help them to perk up.

I originally had the frag on the sand bed after a few days I moved it up onto the rock work where it is now in the pics above. . .the frag has since passed! Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it may have died??? I know there's no way to pin point a reason. . but it kinda puzzles me because all other corals are doing great! the first few days I had the frag it was looking ok no slime no deterioration after a few days it got some dark looking spots( C.O.D. maybe?) then after another day or so u could tell it was deteriorating nd so on and so fourth. . . I really would love to have a toadstool in the tank but i dont want to risk killing another if i can figure out an explanation as to why it may have died

Sounds like it had some type of disease? I wouldn't be too discouraged from getting another one if your other corals are doing good. Sometimes frags just wither away for no apparent reason. Even trying different light/flow/placement ect sometimes I have a coral die on me. This is a challenging and sometimes frustrating hobby which makes the pay off of a sweet tank even more satisfying imo.
