Hello Reef Central,
I am a newbie to the site and the hobby, have been researching marine reef keeping since July and consistently transfixed/mesmerised/astounded at the diversity, artistry and science involved in effectively maintaining a marine habitat. Last night I ordered my tank a 94cm x 34cm x 35cm, these are the positions of the holes:
I'm going to do a corner overflow box Herbie style full siphon to keep noise to a minimum, also placed the order for my sump which is 60cm x 22cm x 26cm; i've not asked for any baffles as i'll silicone my own in once I figure out my final design based on product footprints.
I've got my eyes on a Fluval E series 300w heater as I love the way you can set the temperature digitally which is then maintained to within 0.5F variance with a colour coded screen to alert you of any changes in temperature, which it then rectifies.
An Eheim 3000+ compact will be my return, heard all good and one bad thing about noise, hopefully the one bad review I saw on YouTube was a fluke. Checking out protein skimmers I was going to go for:
http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co....er-p-3438.html
Since then i've heard differing views on how effective nano-skimmers are so will consider getting one at a later date if my parameters need it.
This is going to be the location I chose this oak cabinet as it's away from the reach of my three cats!
I'm getting the build constructed by Keith Walter at Windsor Aquatics, for polished edges, clear silicone £196 including delivery charge it was an instantaneous sale! Windsor Aquatics.
