too much flow for lps

i have a fluval 204 and a maxijet 1200 in a 20 gallon long is this too much flow for lps around 450 gph

Probably not, maybe not enough. You should only be running carbon in the fluval, not any of the ceramic or plastic biological filter materials.

ya i am only running carbon. will i be ok with this flow then

Like I said, maybe. If anything, it may not be enough. It all depends on your rockwork and what corals you get. I have 2 seio 820s (1640 gph supposedly) and a mag 7 return (probly around 500 gph by the time it gets up to the tank) in a 58 gallon tank. I have pretty good flow, but not too much by any means, and mostly lps corals.

you can easily run 25-30 times turn over rate with LPS... and should atleast be doing in the low 20's to keep down on cayno and other algaes from growing on the sand.
