top fathom 200 skimmer help

I am looking for suggestions with anyone has used on of these before on tuning it. I upgraded the pump to a 1085gph pump but I am looking for suggestions on where to keep the water level and air valve. Only it said start with 25% open but i can't get any foam going with that. If i run it full open I get a very wet skimmate sometimes and sometimes nothing at all. It has been running for about a month. Three days on the bigger pump. Any help would be appreciated.

I modded mine to run recirc. Works 20x better, I feed with a MJ400.

Can you give me some info on the mod or a place where I can find it.

I tried looking every where for a mod for a top fathom and couldn't find anything.
