Top of True perc turning black

Hello,

I bought a true perc about a month ago. He was more yellow than orange and his front stripe kinda touched his middle stripe. I've seen over the past week or so that the top of his head is turning a darker and darker color and is looking black.

Is this normal or is something going on with him? I will try to post a pic later to show what is he looks like. Any help would be great! TIA

yes, in the hobby, the darker clowns tend to be valued more. Nothing is wrong with it physically.
