Torch Coral Care

I want everyone's opinions, experiences, and pictures of Torch corals (Euphyllia glabrescens). I have one saved at the LFS that is paired with a couple of clowns. It looks awesome. Does there care differ from other Euphyllia species?

Thanks

Same care as all euphyllia.

I would not keep the clowns with it, most of the time the coral does not enjoy the clowns hosting in it, and will often remain at least somewhat closed, or retracted.

Of course , there are exceptions to this, but imo the coral will have a better chance of acclimating and living a long life if it is not being bothered by a pair of nettling clowns.

I appreciate your concern and will watch them when the coral is acclimating to the tank. However, the clowns/coral have been paired for a few weeks/months. It expands fully, and looks very healthy. I don't believe it is bothered to much. Any other opinions.

Thanks!

that is a great looking torch your getting if it is the one at Grants. we were thinking of getting it also but he wouldn't seperate the pair:p but i agree it does fully open and is very healthy. the clowns don't seem to bother it at all

Yeah Sam, that's the one. I agree it is great looking. I'm hoping to pick it up during the next meeting. I just hope the bigger tank is ready for livestock. I just put sand in it yesterday, it's still cloudy today. I want to transfer everything over to it Sunday. Wish me luck!

I agree 100% IME, clowns can harass an LPS to death...
