I just received a new torch coral in the mail from MarineDepotLive. It is about the size of a softball maybe. Since I put it in my tank one branch has not came out and I noticed that it has this slimey white coating over it? What should I do? Also when I first put it in the tank most of the coral was expanded and looked great and now it is small and stringy. What do I do? Where is the best position in the tank? I have metal halide lighting but only 150w HQI. Also what for flow would be the best to get it feeling better? Would it help if I cut off the branches that have the white slimey coating on them?

Middle of the tank, not a whole lot of flow. Water parameters are all good taken by me and my lfs. I did drop the coral while I was putting it in and it hasnt looked right since then. Any ideas?

can you give numbers for the tests?

cal.
nitrates
temp.
sg.
alk
mag.

you could up the flow but make sure it isn't a stream of water hitting it.

also if this is the same day you got it. it could be that it is just getting used to your tank.

also how did you acclumiate it?
