Really liked the shape and colors of trachy and wellsophyllia brains. Also hear they are pretty hardy (for a coral). I have a yellow tang and a flame angel (about 3-4 inches each) in a 50 (tang police, please dont respond, Ill move him when he gets too big).

Ive heard they will nip it to death. Is this true or can I go ahead and get one?? Maybe blasto or favia would be a better choice??

Flame angel is Centropyge loriculus? If IÃ"šÃ‚´m right at the identification (sorry, in Europe we use very few common names), it could probably disturb and even kill your trachy (Wellsophyllia is not a valid genus).

Maybe a favia is some more safe, for what IÃ"šÃ‚´ve seen, centropyges attack specially fungia, and trachys.

I donÃ"šÃ‚´t know about blastos... theyÃ"šÃ‚´re banned in Europe, there are few people who have one, and the owners try to not put his jewels with centropyges ;)

Good luck,

Dani

Thanks. Not really and issue with the Centropygae anymore. when I woke up this morning he was dead. Really sucks. Water params are fine, but he has been acting weird lately. Looks like Ill stay away from the Centropygae genus for my next fish. Looking into either clowns, flasher wrasses, or anthias.

I know Wellsophyllia is not a valid genus anyomore, just like the more convoluted shape of that (former) genus and wanted to epress that.

Why are blastos banned in EU??

Scolymias, Echinos , and Blastos are banned in Europe.
Sory about the loss of your fish.
you said it was acting wierd, what is weird? it was swimming strange?

Angles are hit or miss. Some nip some dont. I have a 4" lemon peel in my 90 gallon and he leaves my GSP, blue berry gargonian, zoas, and so forth alone. Any species of angel runs the risk of nipping. If you have a prized collection of acan, blastos, or micros I would not try it but that is a gamble you have to take. Sorry to here about your fish but figured I would still comment for future ref. for you.
