It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my long spined urchin is up for trade. The tale of my urchin is long, but suffice it to say he's quite large and quite hungry:
It is the fault of the urchin that I discovered RC. It simply got too big for my 37g with all its inhabitants. On the advice of several people, I moved it to a 20g to encourage it to drop some of his spines. In that time, it has only eaten more, including a bunch of my live rock. It's just insatiable and needs a good, large home. When the spines are fully spread out, it is approximately 15" across. The longest spines are larger than 7". The urchin will come with ample tank water, a 5g bucket and lid, seaweed clip, and some seaweed.
Be forewarned: the urchin will eat all of your macro algae - quickly.
In addition, I have a Cowrie Tiger I'd like to offer to someone. I picked him up from a local reefer without the knowledge that he'll eat my condy. Since I'll be condensing my tanks in the future, he'll need a good home.
If you can catch them, or help me catch them, I have three Yellowtailed Damsels and a Domino Damsel. The Domino is, at this age, very friendly and loves bubbles. The Domino will host in a Carpet Anemone if you have one or, alternatively, act aggressively to something that is hosted. He was in competition with my Tomato for the condy. Two other Domino's perished trying to host in the condy, so he's in a separate tank and much easier to catch.
I have some dry goods I'm no longer using, including two packages of two quick filters for the AquaClear Quick Filter. (I haven't been able to find one, so I picked up a Duetto instead.) In addition, I have a TetraTec PF300 available. The PF300 is used and comes with 4 frames for chemical filtration, but you'll need to buy carbon and filters. It's in working condition and recently cleaned. Lastly, I have a AquaC Remora Prefilter box.
Here's a quick list:
1) (1) Large Black Spined Urchin
(Including: 5g bucket, seaweed, clip)
2) (1) Large Cowrie Snail
3) (3) Yellowtailed Damsels
4) (1) Three Spot Black Damsel
5) (2) Two pack of AquaClear quick filters
6) TetraTec PF300
7) AquaC Remora Prefilter box
I'll have more as I move closer to condensing my tanks into one, but that's some time off now.
Things I'd be interested to trade for:
1) Poly Filters or some chemical filtration media that removes phosphate.
2) 2 mag floats (for attaching to an MJ1200 and an AquaClear 20)
3) Small bits of coralline algae covered LR for my fuge. (No more than two inches across)
4) Frags, but be warned, I'm a newbie to corals and will rely on your suggestion of what will work well with my set up and experience. I like things that look like anemone, but couldn't tell you what that means in words.
5) Scoops of LS.
There are many more things I'd be interested in, but for whatever reason, that's the only stuff that come to mind right now. :/ I'll list more as I think of it.
I'm more interested in trading, thus I've listed no prices, but I'm open to discussing prices if you'd prefer cash. For the most part, I'm just trying to get unused stuff to people who can use it. I'm not greedy, so don't hesitate to make an offer.
I'll be at the meeting or you can swing by our place in Suffield if you can't make the meeting.
