Tropic Marin Pro-Reef: What do your tests read with a fresh batch?

I am assuming we all shoot for about 1.025 sg or S=34-36? I can't afford to buy the works where tests are concerned, so wondering if anyone has a link to where this was evaluated for major elementals, or if anyone could just post their results for freshly mixed TM pro-reef. (pH, alk, Ca, Mg, etc.)

Thanks!

You're a chem student, bust out some titrations! :D . jk. I'm willing to venture a guess that Tropic Marin is like many other salt mixes in that it is not entirely consistant in its composition. These test kits can be had relatively cheaply. Salifert kits really aren't necessary for anything but Mg and Ca, so perhaps you could borrow a kit?? IMO it's worth the few dollars for tests if you want to provide the best possible environment for your corals/fish. All About Fish in Concord tests pH, N02, NH4, N03 for free and maybe Ca, might be a possibility if you can get there. Anyhow, good luck.

lol! What are you studying?

Well, i'm just buying Salifert's Ca & PO4. I'm getting Seachem's cheap 25$ kit with NO2, NO3, Alk & pH. Just curious if someone has some readings on this. I used to use Tropic Marin but decided to buy the new formula. Hope it was a good decision. I'm not buying Mg right now. Definitely don't plan frequent trips to Concord, I don't really like to drive:p

thx,

Wow, last time I heard from you Angela, you were in FLA I think. Correct?? How have you been? How's the tank doing? Nice to see you are still on here.
