Tube worm vacated tube what to do?

I know he did this for a reason, should I intervene in any way?

He might come back... I would leave it if it were me.

Do not intervene. Leave the worm to do or go where it wants. It might go back or just build it's self a new tube. They move sometimes in search of food. Or if something near by (or in the tank all together) was stressing it.

Thanks for the advice. I have a bigger worm for 2 months that hasn't done anything, this one is only 2 weeks new (to my tank)
