Hi,

I have a question about this product. I am setting up a 125g on my brand new wood floors and I'm paranoid that the tank is going to overflow. Can I mount a sensor to the edge of the tank to shut off the main pump if the water gets too high. All of my equipment is in my basement also so is there a way to extend the power leads?

Thanks,
Chris

The problem is the basement sump. The unit has three sensors 2 mount in sump and one in the tank. If the sump runs low it shuts off the return pump and sounds an alarm. If the tank runs high it shuts off the return and sounds an alarm. If the sump runs high it sounds an alarm only. The cables to the sensors are only 6ft long and this is where the problem is. They are hard wired and even if you extended them from the circuit board the problem will be the signal may not conduct the longer disctance.

Darn. i just did a string test and all I would just need one side to be at least 3 ' longer. Is there any way to find out if I could have one custom made or if making the leads longer will definitely cause it to fail? This would be the perfect device to give me some piece of mind. Thanks for your help!

OK, it is possible to extend each cable by 1m (38"). I will do that for you here as a customization. They said the floats come prewired and the only way is to unsolder them, add an extension and splice the cables. I would solder the wires and use shrink wrap and liquid electrical tape to make a fairly clean connection. I will need some time to organize this and find a suitable cable that closely matches the original.
